What you seeSigned up without a referrer and want one now
Adding a referral code to an existing Binance account: which of the three routes fits yours
If your Binance account already has a referrer, it stays. The Referral Pro FAQ answers the question “As a referee, can I change or remove my referrer?” with one sentence: “No, once the referral relationship has been established, it cannot be changed or removed.” Binance’s sign-up guide says the same about the code: once it is linked to your account, it “cannot be modified”. None of the routes on this page replaces an existing referrer.
If your account has no referrer, there are three official routes to add one now. Which one is open to you depends on the age of the account and on what it has done recently: deposits, trades, use of any product, and total trading volume over the last 90 days. Find your case in the list below and read that section.
Which route fits your account
First: does the account already have a referrer? If you typed a code at sign-up and are not sure it was linked, read Entered a referral code but see no fee discount before going on. Then:
- It already has a referrer. No route applies. If you were thinking of closing the account and starting again, read the section on closing the account before you act.
- No referrer, registered 30 days ago or less, no deposit and no trade. Route 1, the 30-day bind.
- No referrer, account more than 90 days old, no trading and no product use in the last 90 days. Route 2, the Affiliates Recall Program.
- No referrer, identity verification complete, master account, some trading in the last 90 days but less than 5,000 USD in total. Route 3, the Rebind application. An account between 31 and 90 days old, or a newer one that has already deposited or traded, lands here too if it meets these conditions, because Routes 1 and 2 are closed to it.
- No referrer and more than 5,000 USD of volume in the last 90 days. No route is open today. Go to the last section.
An inactive account that fits Route 2 may also meet Route 3, since zero volume is below 5,000 USD; Route 2 has no volume target, so check it first. The rebind self-check on this site goes through the same conditions one question at a time.
Regions where none of the routes apply
All three routes lead into Binance’s referral programme, and its additional terms do not cover everyone. Users from the prohibited countries list and users in restricted regions are out. The terms also name specific cases: users registered under EEA countries from 1 July 2026, Singapore residents and Binance Israel based users cannot take part in any role; residents of Japan cannot be referees; UK retail users receive no future commissions; the retail referral programme is discontinued for users based in Türkiye; and no commission is paid on either side when the referee is a Hong Kong resident. The Rebind FAQ makes it a condition: you must not reside where the programme is not supported.
Route 1: still within 30 days of registration
Routes 1 to 3 follow three Binance pages: Frequently Asked Questions on Affiliates Rebind Feature (published 28 September 2026), FAQ on Affiliates Recall Program and Frequently Asked Questions on Binance Referral Pro Mode, checked October 2026.
The Referral Pro FAQ (question 4) lets a user bind a referrer after sign-up only while six conditions all hold. Among them: the user is within 30 days of registration, the account has no deposit or trading activity, and the user’s KYC information has not been used on another account within the past 180 days.
The 30 days run out on their own, and one deposit or trade ends the window early. If you are inside it, Forgot the referral code at sign-up lists all six conditions and what to do, in order, before either happens.
Route 2: the Affiliates Recall Program for accounts inactive for 90 days
The Recall Program lets a Binance affiliate invite an existing user who has gone quiet. The inviter must be part of the Binance Affiliate programme. On your side, all four conditions on the page must be true:
- The account is already registered on Binance.
- The account has not been bound to any inviter before.
- The account is more than 90 days old.
- The account “has not conducted any trading or used any products on the Binance platform in the past 90 days.”
For an eligible invitee, the confirmation window described below appears after opening the link and logging in.
If you have read “180 days” somewhere else, that was the rule before 24 March 2026. From that date the Recall page changed both the account-age and the inactivity requirement from 180 days to 90 days.
How the bind happens: a link and one button
You cannot join the Recall Program by typing a referral code; the page says binding existing users through a code is currently not supported. It works only through the affiliate’s latest invitation link or QR code from their Referral Pro page. Their original link and QR code can only invite new users. The Recall page shows the format the new link must follow.
- The affiliate gets the latest invitation link and QR code from their Referral Pro page.
- The affiliate shares the link or QR code with you.
- You open the link and log in to your Binance account. If you are eligible, a confirmation window pops up.
- You click Bind Now. The binding takes effect at that point, not before.
The feature is still in a testing phase and may not be available in all regions. Once bound, commission on your trades is calculated as for a new user the affiliate invited.
B-01On screenThe confirmation window appeared and I closed it without clicking Bind Now
Nothing has changed: the bind takes effect only when you click Bind Now. The Recall page describes one way to reach the window, opening the link and logging in, so do that again with the same link. Do not trade or use any product in the meantime, because that would break condition 4.
B-02On screenI opened the link and logged in, but no window appeared
Check, in this order: the inviter sent the new-format link from their Referral Pro page, not an older link or QR code; the inviter is a Binance affiliate; your account is more than 90 days old, was not bound to an inviter before, and has had no trading or product use for 90 days; your region is covered by the test phase. If you traded in the last 90 days, check Route 3 instead.
Route 3: the Rebind application (under 5,000 USD in 90 days)
The Rebind feature is for eligible existing users with no qualifying referral relationship, who apply through a link shared by an affiliate. The FAQ’s disclaimer says every request is subject to review, compliance checks and final approval, so submitting is not the same as being bound.
Conditions for the user being rebound
You must meet all of these:
- identity verification (KYC) completed;
- no existing referrer;
- using a master account, not a sub-account;
- total trading volume below 5,000 USD (or equivalent) in the last 90 days;
- not flagged for abnormal trading activity or behaviour inconsistent with, or in contravention of, Binance’s terms and policies;
- not residing in a restricted country or region where the referral programme is not supported.
The affiliate must also have completed identity verification. If your verification is done but your account review is still pending, you cannot use the feature until that review is complete.
Who starts it, and what you confirm
Only an affiliate can start a Rebind application. They go to Affiliate Dashboard > Referrals > Rebind Application, copy the rebind link and send it to you. Opening that link does not bind you: it pre-fills the affiliate’s referral code on the rebind page, and you still review and confirm the submission yourself. You can also type a valid referral code on that page and confirm it. Co-Inviter codes and Pro Mode referral codes are both accepted, and both you and the affiliate can view the rebind status.
The 150,000 USD condition, and what counts
After you submit, the referral relationship is established only once your total trading volume reaches 150,000 USD (or equivalent) within 30 days, starting on the day you submit. You do not wait for the period to end: on the day your volume reaches 150,000 USD, the binding is completed.
| Counts toward the 150,000 USD | Does not count |
|---|---|
| Spot, Futures, Convert, Margin, copy trading from the master account | All sub-account volume, all volume on zero-fee trading pairs |
The bStocks 3x Multiplier campaign does not apply to the Rebind feature. The FAQ does not say whether trades made before the relationship is established get any share of the fees; by its wording, the relationship starts on the day the volume is reached.
A worked example: what 150,000 USD of volume costs
Redo this with your own numbers. Assume, for the arithmetic only, a taker fee of 0.1%. That is an assumption, not a quote; real rates are on Binance’s fee page.
- Fees on 150,000 USD of volume at 0.1%: 150,000 × 0.001 = 150 USD.
- An account under 5,000 USD of volume in the last 90 days trades, on average, under 5,000 ÷ 3 ≈ 1,667 USD per 30 days.
- 150,000 ÷ 1,667 ≈ 90. The condition asks for at least 90 times that pace inside one 30-day window.
For a low-volume account, trading extra volume just to qualify does not pay. You carry the fees and the market risk, and abnormal trading activity is one of the listed reasons for being ineligible. The route makes sense only if you were going to trade that much in the next 30 days anyway.
One more consequence follows from the conditions. Whatever you trade while trying to qualify counts toward your 90-day volume. If you fall short of 150,000 USD but trade more than 5,000 USD, a new application stays closed until your last-90-days figure is back under 5,000 USD.
Cancelling, reapplying, and instant binds
You cannot cancel an application yourself; Binance Customer Support handles that. After a cancellation, you can reapply at once only if your 90-day volume is not above 5,000 USD. A failed application can be followed by a new one, but eligibility is reviewed again and approval is not assured.
The FAQ also explains why some users bind instantly while others must apply. Self-rebind is available for users with no trading history. The Affiliate Rebind application is for users who already have trading history and need additional eligibility checks.
B-03On screen30 days have passed and my volume did not reach 150,000 USD
Under question 4 of the Rebind FAQ, the relationship has not been established. A new application is allowed but is checked against the same conditions, so if your trading pushed your last-90-days volume above 5,000 USD, you will not qualify until that figure falls back below it. Before trying again, redo the worked example with your real numbers.
B-04On screenThe page will not accept a new application
The FAQ gives two reasons: an application is already in progress, or your recent trading no longer meets the conditions. In the first case, wait for the current one to finish, or ask Binance Customer Support to cancel it. In the second, check your last-90-days volume against 5,000 USD. A pending account review also blocks the feature.
Can you close the account and start over with a new referrer?
Not as a way to get a referrer. Binance’s account closure page says closing is irreversible, that identity verification on a new account “may be blocked for 30 days or longer”, and that a new account with a different referral relationship loses eligibility for any referral rebates, activities and rewards. The Referral Pro FAQ adds that when an account is closed to create a new one for referral benefits, Binance reserves the right to terminate all referral commissions from the new account, and a user found with the same identity under a different referral relationship cannot receive any rebates.
It also defeats Route 1: one of its six conditions is that your KYC information has not been used on another account within the past 180 days. A new account opened with the same identity within 180 days fails that condition.
After the bind (Routes 1 and 2): what the referee gets, and when
Your share is set by the referrer, separately for each referral link, when they create it: they choose the Spot and Futures commission ratio for that link, and once the link exists its settings cannot be modified. The referee receives a rebate only if the referrer chooses to share part of the commission. Binance’s affiliate starter guide says affiliates can give their referrals up to a 20% rebate on Spot and Margin fees. That is a ceiling; what you get is whatever your referrer set on that link, so ask before you confirm.
Other points from the Referral Pro FAQ:
- Payout: since 13 February 2025, shared commissions for referred users are paid in USDC, converted hourly and deposited into your Spot Account within 6 hours.
- Fee-free trades: trades that pay no trading fee generate no commission, so nothing is shared on them.
- Sub-accounts: commissions from sub-account trading go to the master account’s referrer.
- VIP level: commissions come only from regular to VIP 2 referrals; on Spot and Margin they stop once the referred user reaches VIP 3.
- Futures: a referee stops receiving Futures rebates when the inviter’s 1-year Futures commission period expires, and they resume only if the inviter reaches a 30% or higher Futures rate through evaluation.
If none of the three routes fits
If your account already has a referrer, there is no official way to change it. If it has no referrer but more than 5,000 USD of volume in the last 90 days, and it does not meet the Recall conditions, there is currently no official route either.
The Rebind FAQ gives no waiting period; it says every new application must again meet all the conditions, including below 5,000 USD of volume in the past 90 days. So eligibility comes back once your volume for the most recent 90 days is under 5,000 USD, as long as the other conditions still hold. An account with no trading or product use for 90 days can also be invited through the Recall Program.
Questions people ask
Can I change the referral code on my existing Binance account?
No. Binance's Referral Pro FAQ says that once the referral relationship has been established, it cannot be changed or removed. The three routes for binding a referrer later are all limited to accounts that have no referrer yet.
Can I add a Binance referral code after registration?
Only if the account has no referrer. Within 30 days of registration and with no deposit or trade, there is the bind described in the Referral Pro FAQ. An account older than 90 days with no trading or product use in the last 90 days can be invited through the Affiliates Recall Program. A verified master account with under 5,000 USD of volume in the last 90 days can use the Rebind application started by an affiliate.
What counts toward the 150,000 USD volume in a Binance rebind application?
The Rebind FAQ lists Spot, Futures, Convert, Margin and copy trading from the master account. Sub-account volume and volume on zero-fee trading pairs are excluded, and the bStocks 3x Multiplier does not apply. The volume must be reached within 30 days, counted from the day the application is submitted.
How long must my account be inactive for the Binance Recall Program?
Since 24 March 2026, the account must be more than 90 days old and must not have conducted any trading or used any products on Binance in the past 90 days. Before that date both periods were 180 days.
Can I close my Binance account and sign up again with a new referral code?
The Referral Pro FAQ says no: if Binance detects that an account was closed to create a new one for referral benefits, it reserves the right to terminate all referral commissions from the new account. The account closure page adds that you lose eligibility for referral rebates, activities and rewards, and that identity verification on a new account may be blocked for 30 days or longer.
