What you seeNew email or phone number, and Binance still has the old one

Changing your Binance email or phone number, even when the old one is gone

Both changes start in the same place on the Binance website: hover over the Profile icon, click Account, then open Security. The email is the row marked Email, the phone number is the row marked Phone Number, and each has a Manage button. You pass one verification step, receive a code at the new address or number, and submit it.

Plan for what follows the change. For up to 48 hours, withdrawals, internal transfers and P2P transactions are disabled, and an old email address cannot be used to register again for 30 days. If you cannot get through the verification step at all, skip ahead to the reset section.

How to change your Binance email address

Binance’s email page lists seven steps:

  1. Log in, hover over the Profile icon and click Account.
  2. Go to Security and click Manage next to Email.
  3. Click the Edit icon.
  4. Read the notes before you go on. They state the two consequences: withdrawals, internal transfers and P2P transactions are disabled for up to 48 hours, and your old email address cannot be used to re-register for 30 days.
  5. Verify the request with your passkey or 2FA devices.
  6. Enter the new email address and click Get Code. Enter the code sent to the new address and click Submit.
  7. The email is updated. The 48-hour note is repeated on this screen.

The code in step 6 goes to the new address, so open that inbox before you click Get Code.

B-01On screenStep 5 asks for a passkey or 2FA device I no longer have

This page has no way around step 5. If none of your passkeys or 2FA devices works, stop here and use the login-page reset described further down. If only the authenticator is missing because you changed phones, the page about a new phone and lost authenticator codes may get it back without a reset.

Changing or resetting the phone number on Binance

Quoted in this section: Binance’s How to Reset My Phone Number for SMS Verification on the Binance Website?. The email steps above come from How to Change My Binance Account Email?, and the reset route below from How to Reset 2FA When I Can’t Access My Binance Account?. All three were checked October 2026.

The phone page opens by saying you can reset the number you use for 2FA if you cannot receive SMS verification codes. So a SIM card you no longer have is the case this page was written for, as long as another verification method still works.

  1. Log in, hover over the Profile icon and click Account.
  2. Go to Security and click Manage next to Phone Number.
  3. Click the edit icon next to the number you want to change.
  4. Read the notes and click Continue. They state that withdrawals, internal transfers and P2P transactions are disabled for up to 48 hours.
  5. Complete 2FA. With the old number gone, use another method you have set up.
  6. Enter the new number and click Get Code. Enter the code sent to the new number and click Submit.
  7. The new number is verified, and the 48-hour note appears again.

B-02On screenThe code for the new number does not arrive

The new number’s country or region has to be on Binance’s SMS coverage list, or texts will not reach it. Check the list and the other SMS causes on the page about codes that do not arrive before trying again.

Changing both: which one first?

Start with the one you can no longer receive codes on. While you change it, the other one still works and may be the method you use for the verification step. Then change the second.

Do them close together. The email page and the phone page both put withdrawals, internal transfers and P2P transactions on hold for up to 48 hours. Two changes made on the same day keep those pauses overlapping; two changes several days apart can stop withdrawals twice. If you have a withdrawal or P2P trade you need soon, finish it before the first change.

When you cannot pass the security verification at all

Then the change pages cannot help, and the reset takes over. It starts from the login screen, not from Security: after your password, choose the method you cannot use, for example Email, and click Security verification unavailable? in the pop-up. The rest of the Binance reset, step by step, is in the last part of the guide to a new phone and lost authenticator codes. After a successful reset, the reset page says withdrawals, P2P selling, internal transfers and payment services are disabled for up to 48 hours. If any of this appears as an account restriction rather than a code problem, see account locked, disabled or withdrawals suspended.

B-03On screenThe reset ends with Application Denied

Binance’s reset page gives one instruction for this result: double-check which 2FA devices you still have, and try again. At step 6 the same page asks you to tick every 2FA device you have lost access to, so go through that list again with the phone, the authenticator app and the mailbox in front of you, and tick only what you cannot use.

If someone else took over your mailbox rather than you simply moving to a new address, secure the mailbox itself with its provider before changing anything on Binance.

Three checks right after the change

  1. Reload Security and read the Email and Phone Number rows. Each should show the new details.
  2. Log out and back in once, so any login code arrives at the new address or number while you are watching for it. If it goes to the old one, open Security again and check the row.
  3. Write down the time of the change. The pause on withdrawals, internal transfers and P2P lasts up to 48 hours, so check whether a failed withdrawal falls inside that window before treating it as a new restriction.

Questions people ask

Can I use my old email for a new Binance account after changing it?

Not straight away. Binance's email change page says that after you change your email address, the old address cannot be used to re-register for 30 days.

How long are withdrawals paused after changing my Binance phone number?

Binance's phone number page says withdrawals, internal transfers and P2P transactions are disabled for up to 48 hours after the change. The email change page states the same pause for an email change.

My old phone number no longer works. Can I still change it on Binance?

Yes, if you can pass 2FA another way. Binance's phone number page is written for people who cannot receive SMS codes: go to Security, click Manage next to Phone Number, and complete 2FA with a method you still have. If no method works, use the 2FA reset from the login page instead.

Can I change both the email and the phone number on the same day?

Yes. Nothing in either set of steps asks you to wait between them. Both pages state a pause of up to 48 hours on withdrawals, internal transfers and P2P transactions, so making both changes close together lets the two pauses overlap.
